Abstract

This paper anaylize the barveness of Hammal Kalmati in Balochi classical poerty. Hammal Kalmati is known as a Baloch chief and warrior. He fought and resisted with Portuguese pirates, probably in the latter part of the sixteenth century, to protect the Baloch land and sea. He had sacrificed his life for the Baloch and their sea. According to a tradition, he had even tried to kill a lion by trying its claws. Apart from this, there was a fight between Hammal Kalmati and Chakar Kulwahi based on poetry, while according to some sources, there was a practical resistance to each other.
