Abstract

This study attempts to throw some light on the history and development of storytelling, which can be traced back as far as the development of written language. It also discusses the different categories of folk tales such as, fable, legends, epic, fairytale, allegory, talltale, parable, tail tales, etiological tales, sage, romance, fable and pour quoi. Furthermore, it discusses whether Balochi tales exist in these categories or not.
