Abstract
This paper studies the techniques and history of free verse in Balochi poetry. Free Verse is the synchronized collaboration of vocabulary, punctuation, and line break. It is the breaking of some old rules and the using of new tools. Balochi poetry is a rich tradition of poetry and has many different types and forms. Majority of poets the classical style, though new styles are evolving and in progress. In today’s Balochi poetry, ‘Gazal’, free verse poetry, English sonnets and Japanese ‘Haaykoo’ are present. Azat Jammaldini and Atta Shad were the pioneers of free verse in Balochi poetry. Atta’s first free verse poem was "Shapaank (Shephard)” published in Ulus Magazine.
